Each of our trips are led by our experience pack team, with well-trained and seasoned Jackson Hole Outfitter stock (horses).

Our overnight pack trips are planned and designed around providing you the most immersive and unforgettable backcountry experience available. Depart from Jackson into the Teton Wilderness and visit one of the most remote wildernesses in the lower 48, so you truly are as far off the road as possible.
You’ll experience solitude, rushing waterfalls, towering peaks, calm backcountry lakes, lush meadows, and see a variety of wildlife like elk, mule deer, bears, moose, eagles, and much more!
We can customize your trip to number of days, number of people and destinations within the wilderness based on your preferences. Riders of all experience levels are welcome as our well-trained horses make the ride easy.
Teton wilderness pack trips

Duration: 4 – 6 Days
Minimum Group Size: 6
Located just north of Jackson Hole, the Teton Wilderness is adjacent to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. You’ll pack on horses deep into the remote and vast backcountry, surrounded by stunning peaks, rivers, waterfalls, and some of the famous and amazing country that’s still the way John Colter found it.
Visit Two Ocean Pass, a natural phenomenon that is truly one of the most unique places in the world. You’ll see the “parting of the waters” where Pacific and Atlantic creeks divide at the Continental Divide and each runs into a different ocean!
You’ll also experience amazing scenery, wildlife viewing, remote lakes and meadows, all on the back of one of our experience mountain horses. Comfortable lodging in canvas tents and meals are provided.

the nez pierce trail

The historic Nez Pierce trail was traveled by Native Americans, famous for their horsemanship from Easter Oregon to Montana. We visit the historic section of this trail just east of Yellowstone National Park and camp along Timber Creek at JHO’s permitted Forest Service camp. Enjoy amazing Yellowstone country scenery, exceptional overnight pack trip fly fishing trips , and an abundance of wildlife viewing opportunities.
Enjoy a comfortable stay in our camp, visit the petrified ridge, and see the historic country that the Nez Pierce called home on this unforgettable adventure!
